The mission of God

„So what is faith? It is the basis of our hope, a conviction of realities that cannot be seen.“
Hebrews 11:1 BIBLE.TODAY

All of our lives are useful for something. Most people spend their lives raising a family, building a career or accumulating possessions.

None of this is necessarily wrong, but it can distract us from the real goal of life.

In the book of Acts, we read how Paul was transformed by Jesus. After meeting Him and being changed by His grace, Paul spends the rest of his life proclaiming the good news of Jesus.

God's grace and salvation have become so great to him that nothing in this world is more important to him than God's work.

Paul says that nothing in his life is as important as telling others about God's grace. His goal in life was to finish his own course well by faithfully fulfilling God's commission as best he could:

„But my life is not important to me. Rather, I want to carry out the mission that Jesus, the Lord, gave me to the end: to proclaim the saving message of God's grace.“
Acts 20:24 Hfa

God's mission is not against starting families or building careers. In fact, God wants us to use these opportunities to faithfully fulfill His mission. We can start families in His way, and we can tell our coworkers about the grace of God. Every place we find ourselves can be an opportunity to fulfill His commission.

Take a moment to think about your life and what you spend your time doing. Are you using every opportunity you have to spread the good news of Jesus? Is your life, like Paul's, centered on God?

Think about a few ways you can change your perspective and live your life on God's behalf.
