Maurer in Peru

We arrived safely in Cusco!

During our 14-day stay in the Dominican Republic, we were able to calm down, process all our experiences and emotions, soak up the sun and warmth and refocus.

On August 7, we continued our journey via Lima to Cusco.

Now we are acclimatizing, as we feel the altitude with dizziness and a tightness in our breathing.

This Mon. 12.8. we take a cab to Curahuasi to the Diospi Suyana hospital to hand in our visas.

We plan to stay for 4 days and are allowed to stay overnight in our future home. This will allow us to visit everything and introduce ourselves to the hospital and our future employees.

The following week we start with the language school and the children both go to kindergarten together to learn the language.

We value our time together, which sometimes brings challenges.

We have tolerated the food well so far.

We have all our belongings with us in 8 suitcases.

It's not much and yet it's everything we need without missing anything.

We are optimistic and satisfied. All four of us are looking forward to the next stage and learning the language intensively.
